Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough
healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells provide oxygen to body tissues.
Different types of anemia include: Anemia due to vitamin B12 deficiency. Anemia
due to folate (folic acid) deficiency.
The
main function of red blood cells is to:
carry
oxygen towards the tissues from the lungs. It does this by binding oxygen to
hemoglobin.
carry
carbon dioxide away from the tissues and towards the lungs. ...
red
blood cells' functions also include determining a person's blood type.
White
blood cell:
White
blood cells are part of the body's immune system. They help the body fight
infection and other diseases. Types of white blood cells are granulocytes
(neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils), monocytes, and lymphocytes (T cells
and B cells).
Thrombocytes
are pieces of very large cells in the bone marrow called megakaryocytes. They
help form blood clots to slow or stop bleeding and to help wounds heal. Having
too many or too few thrombocytes or having platelets that don't work as they
should can cause problems.
